ECE 199 - Exploring Electrical Engineering
Taught by Melinda Holtzman, PSU

Introductory class for those curious about Electrical Engineering. In this hands-on class, you will work in teams on a fun project:

  • Learn basic electrical concepts through lab activities
  • Explore the creative side of the engineering design process
  • Learn from working engineers about career opportunities
  • Meet the faculty and hear about their current research

Grading is based on projects only – no tests! Join us this fall to learn about the technology that brought you technology from the light bulb to the cell phone.

ECE 510 - Introduction to Computational Intelligence
Team taught by Garrison Greenwood, George Lendaris, Marek Perkowski, Gerald Sheblé, and Richard Tymerski, PSU

An overview of the computational intelligence field including an introduction to neural networks, fuzzy systems, genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization, ant colony optimization, differential evolution and quantum computing. Introduction to MATLAB and MATLAB toolboxes. Course provides a foundation for more advanced studies in computational intelligence.
